» Tscheppaschlucht Gorge
The elemental force of the plunging water ploughs its way, determining this landscape for millions of years. With a misty haze it embraces the senses of the wanderers, and touches their souls deeply. As the origin of being and life, the cleanest mountain water in thousands of blue tones gives an idea of the greatness of Creation; its constant roaring silences everything else. From the dark depths up to the enticing light of the Tschauko waterfall that, with a new, daring footpath, opens up the view of its most stunning cascades: the “devil’s bridge” to heaven.
Not to speak of the brilliant splendour of rare flowers and blossoms, which are exceptional through the encounter of south and southeast alpine endemics (plants that can only be found in this part of the Alps) as well as species which possibly have survived the Ice Age in the area of the gorge. The descending of plants from subalpine and alpine altitudinal zones is remarkable – they make the Tscheppaschlucht gorge a floristic treasure.
